I've been thinking a lot about patience.
There's a quote I wrote down, I'm not sure where I got it - probably Jhadina. It's on my mirror.
"Hold on to the dream.
Let go of the expectations.
Let go of the waiting.
Hoping is okay."
But patience is my life's lesson. My entire life's main lesson. So I've been thinking about it a lot. Putting it into equations. I don't know why. But...
I'd love to hear your thoughts about any of these! Or new ones! It's like that game Little Alchemy... what plus what gets what?
Waiting is patience in action.
Waiting is patience with intent.
Expectation is waiting with stress.
Hoping is patience with love.
Patience is hoping with love.
Dread is waiting with fear.
Waiting involves time.
Patience has no time attached to it.
Expectations have nothing to do with time, but put pressure on patience.
I don't know. My brain. What can I say?
Image of the author’s left hand holding a slip of paper from a fortune cookie, on which is printed “Love will find you.”
(And what’s fun is that as I am editing this on 4/27/25, the Indigo Girls’ song “Love Will Come to You” is playing… I love that.)
