(Image is of what seems like a path through the forest understory, which ends at a brightly lit clearing full of native plants.)
I just read a post about silence, and not always filling it.
I try to practice that
Because hearing also requires intentionality
And patience
LOL everything requires patience
Including growth.
Like a garden.
My life’s garden is such a crazy beautiful weed patch.
I tried keeping it orderly –
It required constant vigilance.
It was exhausting – the lawn mowing, the weeding, the need to stay on top of it.
I no longer want to stay on top of anything, especially
My own life
In fact I am slowly cleaning out the invasive species I once thought were beautiful,
Letting the natural, native species grow where they will
So far so good
The wilder it gets, the more it attacts:
Birds, bats, insects, squirrels and bunnies
Until all around me is life and
I have no choice but to slow down
So I can look at it all.
